This course provides a primer in the epidemiology and current trends in the treatment of cardiogenic shock. Current challenges with current treatments are discussed including a mortality rate of 50% with many treatment options. Best practices observed from the cVAD Registry are highlighted as a call to action for changes in treating these high-risk patients.
