Ernesto Rodriguez, M.D., and Tom Conley, M.D., are the operators in this live case from Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock Arkansas. The patient is a 55-year-old male with a history of coronary artery disease and ventricular tachycardia who presents with angina, new onset heart failure and a left ventricular ejection fraction of 28%. The patient is enrolled in the PROTECT IV randomized controlled trial (RCT) and randomized to the Impella arm. Dr. Conley and Dr. Rodriguez perform IVUS-guided Protected PCI and bifurcation stenting. During the course of the procedure, Dr. Rodriguez and Dr. Conley discuss topics including bifurcation techniques, single access technique, use of right heart catheter data and IVUS and OCT intravascular imaging with moderator Babar Basir, D.O., and panelists Bill Nicholson, M.D., and Jason Wollmuth, M.D.
